Batla House, O Saki Saki Song Review: Nora Fatehi’s High-On-Energy Moves Add Zing, But Koena Mitra’s Original Version Was Way Better
It’s the trend of catchy remakes and Tanishk Bagchi has become the master of recreating classic songs to suit the sensibilities of the audiences today. Several times we have loved his recreations, so the expectations from this one were naturally sky-high.

The makers of Batla House chose the popular Musafir number Saki Saki that had Koena Mitra gyrating alongside Sanjay Dutt. The track still remains a favourite amongst the list of dance numbers, so reprising it, surely was a tough task. We think the makers partly succeeded, if not fully. The main phrase Saki Saki has been retained, though we have female voices, those of Neha Kakkar and Tulsi Kumar singing it this time, as Nora does her sizzling act.

The rest of the lyrics and rhythm isn’t exactly copied from the original. The video is all about Nora flaunting her fab moves and even playing with fire. We have seen Nora’s high-on-energy dance in various songs like Kamariya, Dilbar and so on, hence, we knew what to expect. She surely adds spark with some difficult steps, especially the hook-step which doesn’t seem to be easy.

While, we are all praises for Nora’s efforts, the music isn’t on par with the original one. Sukhwinder Singh and Sunidhi Chauhan had taken the original number to a different altitude altogether, which seems difficult for the reprised version. Clearly, if you treat this as a standalone number, then maybe this could score at parties and discotheques, but there’s nothing extra-ordinary or really special about it. We think it’s a pretty decent song, but we were surely expecting more zest.
